Eubie e l'origano - Eubie & Oregano

Today a nice bunch of dry oregano was sent to us by human's relatives from South Italy.

Eccolo qui! Profuma tantissimo...

Here it is and it smells a lot!

Hey,wait a moment...it smells like my big love, la Pizza!!!

The bundle needs to be prepared: branch by branch you have to crumble it with the hands, also the paws are good. I'll offer mine with pleasure, expecially if I would be rewarded

C'è voluto un po' di tempo ma ora è pronto
It took us some time but finally the oregano it's ready

Oregano is delicious on ragù, add a little pinch and the sugo becomes extra tasting. As the humans says: "la morte sua" when you talk about a perfect combination of two things.

And this is my reward! Or better, a taste of it. However making oregano is really funny expecially if you want to gain a nice dish of pasta with ease! Buon appetito!

Dopo un bel po' - I'm back!

For all the bones of the world! It's a long time since I've been there! It was not my fault but my human's (as usual). For all this time she said that she was too busy with her new work and when at home she was too tired to let me pawriting on "her" computer. She kept the computer but she left me with a coat of hair so tight that during my raids in the neighborhood they mistook me for a sheep for sure. Thankfully today she fixed me and now I'm Eubie again - the beautiful Eubie to be precise. Also if it's mid September the weather is still mild so every evening I take my human for a walk, to take fresh air. In these occasions I show off my brand new harness: it's orange, with glowing borders that makes me visible in the night. The human made me some pictures and with the camera flash I resembled a streetlight, unfortunately she took them with her phone and as soon as she understands how to transfer them on pc you can see them. How great invention is this harness! It's cheap, you find it in all sizes, you feel safer walking in the night and above all everybody can see you (= admire you)also in poor visibility. After the grooming I'm a bit tired so soon I go sleeping, but before I wanted to give a hairy (short hairy now) hug to all my new American Friends - Humans and Dogs, also if it's a bit late, for the 9/11 Anniversary. I spent this year 9/11 watching documentaries on tv, and I saw many of my cousins American Dogs running with their braves Humans to give paws and hands in Ground Zero. I'm starting to read a book called "Thunder Dog" about a blind man, Michael, who that morning was able to flee from the 78th floor of Tower One thanks to his Guide Dog Roselle who helped him to go down all the 1463 stairs to reach safety! In a tragedy like that of 9/11 the story of Michael and Roselle helps to think that also in the midst of devastation something good can happen! With dog love, Eubie...

Alcune foto per farvi sorridere un po' - Some pictures for make you smile

This is my new glowing harness, it's not glowing because it's daytime and usually you can't find sofas outside...

This other one is a kind of a shirt that human bought me, I don't know for what reason. I look like an emo dog and the only good thing of this shirt is that tight as it is will help me to lose weight.

My look in the picture below tells everything I think and I have to say about this ridicolous shirt!

Because I have a little skin inflammation in the area of my noble bottom, my human brings me to Granny's Garden for distract me from my pain. In this garden rests my Predecessor, beloved Chester, and also the Lupo, the dog of my human's dad. You can write a book about Lupo, my human heard a lot of stuff about him, he was a real myth: he walked around town with money in his collar to buy food, he went to the Church with the Granny, they put around his neck soap or other things the neighbours needs and he delivered them, he understood human's language better than the humans. Also in this garden lies Argo, the last dog late Grandfather owned and before Argo there was Pritti, a pretty and smart mutt that always walked with Grandfather to the market in the town I live (it's about one kilometre from the Garden, she was an athletic dog, and Grandfather too!). Among all this dogs there's also a little corner where the cat of my human's cousin lies, I don't know his name but I know he was very loved, not very much by Argo, they lived splitted in the same garden. At this point you can say that instead of a garden this is a pet cemetery, but for my human - who live in a condo without garden or yard - was a relief knowing to have a place for Chester to rest, and knowing he would be in company of his father's dog was a relief even bigger. To mark the place where Chester lies my human's dad personally choosed a little tree, a maple. He said it's little and strong just like Chester was in his long and happy life

Vi presento il Giardino della Nonna

Ho visto qualcosa laggiù

I've seen something there

Era qui tra le piante...

It was there among the plants

Not only grass but also pebbles!

Non preoccuparti Chester, ci penso io all'umana adesso!

Don't worry Chester, I'm here to take care of our dear human!

When I'm around I don't let nobody came near this maple!

To finish the day in a nice way a check up at the Vet. As you can see I'm quiet and not afraid at all! I rather look forward to meet the Doctor. My human is always perplexed about this...

In the end the Doctor put on my bottom and on my canine prides a special cream. I'll be well in a week, unfortunately this cream after a minute seems like burning my skin and I became hydrophobic. Now I understand why my human bring me at the garden all the time every day for all the day, she feels guilty. She has to!It's my bottom that burns, not hers!

Un bel Ferragosto! - A good Ferragosto

Be a fox terrier these days is really tough! Walking, sleeping, eating, eating and then eating again. It was Ferragosto (15 Agoust) some days ago and the father (papà) of my human brought me a nice present: a BAG full of biscuits! At least two kilos of fine and sweet biscuits in different shapes all for me, the human will ration them for sure but I certainly have a couple every day! I also received one of my favourite snacks, dried pig ears to chew! I'm sorry for all the vegetarians out there, but I like dried pig ears a lot. My Ferragosto went really well: in the evening, as a extra, I found in my bowl a portion of lasagne mixed with my kibbles! What a day, dogs, the humans say the 15th of Agoust is the hottest day of the year, but for me it was the fattest!

Here comes the human's dad with all the biscuits...

Sgancia fratello!
Drop them, bro!

Evvai! Così si fa!

Yeah, nice stuff!

consigli per dormire bene - Eubie's tip to sleep tight

I'm Eubie and today I want to give you a tip for sleeping better...

Prendete un pollo

Take a chicken

Headless and without a leg is better than a whole one...

Keep it fresh on the floor and gently press it under your paw like with a pillow

Quel pollo deve sapere chi comanda!

Close your eyes and also if you fall asleep don't leave it for NO REASON, the chicken have to know who is in charge!

Don't worry chicken, also with my eyes closed I'm still watching you!

I'm happy to be back! It tooks days before my human stops using MY computer. She spent hours fixing all our pictures, and now she even decide to try to make video, always for the joy of the undersigned, always in first line for her experiments. My human have for years a youtube channel, but she never uploaded nothing before yesterday, when she decided to make me debut in the world of cinema. In the video, seen by about 15 people (all relatives, probably), Eubie, the great actor, shows all his howling appreciation for the Tg1 tune (the opening theme of our "telegiornale", daily tv news). Honestly the quality of the vid is poor, but the tone and expression of my powerful howls deserve at least a grammy. I heard that a lot of dogs don't really like the tg1 tune. On youtube many video show desperate dogs howling full throated in vain attempt to persuade their humans to change the channel. As for me I usually start howling in the middle of the tune, when there's a triumph of high pitched notes always so piercing they nearly make my ears fall down...

I would like to add more video, but they were too heavy, so I need to work to make them lighter. I'm a newbie, you know?

comimg home...

My human hided the pill for car sickness in a piece of apple pie. I soon smelled there was something wrong, but I won't give her satisfaction, so I swallowed it without even a single bite. This famigerate pill, with the not reassuring name "killitan" ( they can call it "killadog" for what is worth) needs almost a hour to work ( in ten minutes it can lay down a great dane) so, before leaving Porto Recanati, I did a last walk in the town and made my bag, now ten times heavier than when I've arrived. Because it's sunday the animal shop (I call it animalaio) was closed and my human couldn't buy another big plastic chicken. She said it was a pity find it closed, because she really wanted another one for herself this time, not for me. She said it's not good thing giving Eubie a 10€ plastic chicken that after less than ten minutes got its throat slashed while I'm searching the sound valve.

As I jumped inside the car that damned killitan gave me the coup de grace, despite the delicious smell from the lunch bag, my poor paws refused to move, my muso (dog face in barkitalian) was frozen in a stupor. In this picture you can see the typical sleepy eyes of a doped terrier! It never happened before that food can stay untouched next to me for so long. I swear I did my best to for opening that damned food bag! But my dazy and confused muso had the better on my human, who, once in a while gave me a bit of meat...thank goodness, I was starving! It takes 5 hours to go back to my sweet little cuccia (home for dog)

It's time for me to go now, in the next hours, when my human uploads the new pictures of the journey, you'll find me here again waiting for all of you as usual. In the meanwhile I send you all big hugs dear and I wish an agoust full of fun for you and your humans (they also deserve it, maybe a little less than us). Ciao a tutti e bau bau bau ! (hi and woof woof woof)

Ultimo giorno di vacanza - Last day on vacation

I was supposed to know that, after a week of rain, the sun would come back only when it's time to leave this place! I also know that it's my human's fault, she's so unlucky she brings bad weather with her everywhere she goes, expecially if she's on vacation. Today I have lots of things to do: greeting the dogs of this town and leave my pee around to let them know Eubie was in charge here, I have to eat other fish because back in my city you can find it only frozen, I have to make a last bath because this morning a dog took the beach for her own propriety and having her attached on my tail I couldn't go swimming. Finally I have to make my backpack without forgetting all the things I sent my human to buy me.

Also when I'm on the beach I take my job seriously... paw up and all the dogs around a mile can smell who's REALLY in charge here!

This is me doing some stretching in the "parchetto" (little park)... I was chubby before arriving there but now, after all the eating, a little exercise it was the least I could do...

E ora l'altra zampa...

And now the other paw...

I'm sure this lovely face will be missed by all the pretty dogs of this town!

Yesterday night was raining again. All the canine population on vacation here took the right decision to keep their coats at safe, staying home. I've decided t
o go out though. Under the heavy rain I met only a couple of setters, all busy doing what setters usually do under the rain. We exchanged a couple of tail wagging and I went on walking. A bit before mutating myself in a big foxterrier-shaped sponge I've decided to come back home to sleep. Rain is fun but if your tail becomes heavy on your back it's time to dry it.

When I woke up this morning the house's balcony was still f
ull of water for yesterday's heavy rain, so I decided to sunbake inside while I was waiting to take my human for a walk.

This is me carefully watching the people around. In the "piazzetta" (little square) other dogs bring their humans for a walk just like I did with mine.

Always ready to smile at the camera...

It will be hard for the people of this town to stay without such a guardian like me, when the day after tomorrow I will resume working at my Head Quarter.

Notizie tristi - Sad news

Ariel, (first pic the last kiss of his human) the lion that since last year was paralized, is gone. He was 3 y.o. and for one year he couldn't move his paws. When one of us left is always very sad. This morning while I was reading this news with my human I soon understood that she was unhappy. I know why: my predecessor (second pics on the right when he was still healthy and proud) a mutt with fox terrier mother and unknown father, little before going back to the place where all we dogs came from, was also not walking. The last pictures of Ariel looks like his owns. They had the same look in the eyes. Ariel's human look is the same that my human had when he was with my predecessor in his last days, or when she's thinking of him. My predecessor fought till the end, but when my human whispered to him "you are free if you want", he closed his eyes and left. Probably he already knew that in a month I will come to continue what he had to leave to take a little rest after a long adventurous life. We dogs are really generous, our lives are shorter than human ones, thus they can have many of us with them. When my predecessor left, my (his) human couldn't believe she can have another dog. They grown up together, they were best friends, it seems impossible another dog can enter in her house. Instead, after a month only from his departure, my paws were there, in their house. And now she's always around me, I never have a little privacy with her, she's always on my tail. Nothing is bigger than the love we pets can give to humans! If only some people understand this! With this in mind I paw-rite the other sad news: an idiot stealed the guide dog of a blind young man. The dog is named Alì, is a 9 y.o. German Sheperd, he live with his owner Tommaso for seven years (the couple in the last pic above). He disappered on 21 july in Agrigento province. The dog was in "plain clothes" so maybe who took him didn't understand he was stealing the only chance Tommaso have to see the world around him. All the dogs are important for their humans, but Alì with his noble work is really vital for his human. If somebody is in Sicily for vacation please help Tommaso to have his friend back!

riposo le zampe perché sta piovendo...

Purtroppo sta piovendo! )

It's raining again...Also if I have a waterproof coat and, unlike many dogs, I'm not scared of tunders I've prefer to stay inside, relaxing my paws. You can see me relaxed on the coach in the first picture above on the left (the king of the divan). At least this morning I went for a walk in the free beach, and I let my human to take some pictures of my beautiful "muso" (italian for dog face). I also take a bath, but I prefer not show too much happiness to my human, so I enter inside the water really slow. But you can see from the second picture on the right that I was really happy. There was another little dog on the beach, with his sunbaking human, but he didn't bother to come near me so I concentrate myself on the gulls, but they were out of my paws (On the right one of the lucky gulls far from me). Then I try to rub my coat on the beach to absorbe that beautiful fish' smell that I love, I digged here and there, I tried to swallow a hermit crab (but my human was faster, not swallowing it only hiding it from me). Then I take another little bath again. Now I'm at home. Outside is cold, it's near dinner time and I hope it stops raining so I can go out walking to make friends on the "corso" (the longest street in this town). Untill a couple of years ago I was the only wire fox here. All the people stopped to admire me, saying things like "ohhh cuuuuteee", "he looks like a stuffed toy", "I want him too". I was kind of a rarity in a crowd of poodles and jack russells. I probably started a trend with my presence here in this little town, because since I arrived I saw other two w.f.t. (one I discovered he's my cousin, he came from the same place where I was born). I spotted another one while I'm pawriting just now. Honestly I was proud to be the only one but I have to admit is nice to meet and play with lads that looks like me. Infact I hope that the beautiful terrierina I spotted a little ago will shows her beautiful coat on the corso tonight. Vado (I'm going), some "crocchette" (my fav dog food) are waiting this hungry muso. Ciao!

Bau!

His Majesty Wire Fox Terrier Eubie of Terrierissimi Clan presents himself:
Woof! This is Eubie here, I decided to use my paws for tapping on computer and tell you my adventures, I'm a intrepid dog you know! Now I'm on vacation and I'm quite relaxed. From my window I can see the sea and I'm waiting two things now: dinner and evening walking. The rite of the evening walking is an important social appointment for a dog like me. You can meet a lot of female dogs and I can say they always appreciate a beautiful fox terrier's bearing. Unfortunately I have to go now, it's time for food, but I promise to put there my pics and other things on me and my terrier world very soon. I used this little post only for present myself because I'm a good mannered dog and also a really really humble one. Ciao!
